blacktech Air Springs – Designed Strong and Durable

Rely on our Testing Experience and Unique In-House Testing Facilities

We engineer and supply market leading strong quality Air Springs for the Commercial Vehicle Aftermarket that do not compromise on comfort, safety, robustness and lifetime. We test materials, components and finished products in simulated environments to keep our promise of strong product quality and high reliability.

Learn more about our Testing Facilities

  • Product Durability Test

Our strong quality Air Springs are tested in life tests in order to determine the performance of the Air Springs in vehicle operations. Thus, we ensure that our products fulfill all Aftermarket requirements. blacktech Air Springs are tested for millions of cycles without causing product failure or performance degradation during these tests.
  • Burst Test

Burst tests are performed to determine the maximum resistance pressure of our strong quality Air Springs. To always ensure the safety of our employees, Air Springs are inflated in a closed chamber. The burst pressure is verified in accordance with product test specifications. The burst tests are recorded by a computer-controlled system.
  • Expansion and Lifting Test

Our Air Springs are designed to support balanced transportation of heavy loads. Therefore, it should be checked whether the Air Springs fulfill required expansion and lifting rates. By generating load lifting conditions of an Air Spring in a vehicle, this test checks if the Air Spring is reaching intended lifting rates and the diameter change under escalating load. Since the tests are performed computer-based and automatically, it is possible to determine the diameter expansion according to the lifting force at every pressure level.
  • Leakage Test

Leakage test is performed by using all closed glass-fiber chambers and is used on different pressure levels. Its aim is to prevent any fluctuations/leaks at required pressure levels and operation heights. This test is computer analyzed and can be supervised on digital screens.
  • Laboratory Test: Dispersion

This test measures the carbon black distribution in mixture according to ISO 11345. The result is based on the carbon black particle size distribution and is evaluated on a 1-10 scale given in the standard. The dispersion quality has a direct impact on final product properties such tensile strength, tear strength, fatigue resistance, abrasion resistance and is therefore widely used as a quality control parameter.
  • Laboratory Test: Aging

The aging test is performed to evaluate the compound’s deformations and changes in parameters during different temperatures and times. As the compounds age, the tensile strength, elongation at break and hardness are measured and recorded at desired times.
  • Laboratory Test: Cracking

Our in-house De Mattia Flex Cracking Tester enables us to perform dynamic tests for the determination of fatigue resistance of vulcanized rubbers under repeated deformations. This testing equipment is widely used to measure the initiation and growth of fatigue cracking of rubber components.
